implementations of STD 66 / RFC 3986 sec. 5.2 (resolution of URI references to
absolute form), reveals that the script at
http://dig.csail.mit.edu/2005/ajar/ajaw/uri.js fails a number of tests that were
culled from sources mentioned at http://esw.w3.org/topic/UriTesting.
